We are so excited to share that Mrs Davis will be leading our brand-new Forest School programme here at Redgate!
From Nursery to Year Six, every child will take part in weekly Forest School sessions, enjoying hands-on learning in the great outdoors.
Forest School is a child-centred approach that takes learning beyond the classroom and into nature.
It gives children regular opportunities to explore, discover and learn through play in a natural environment.
Sessions are designed to encourage curiosity, independence, resilience and teamwork - all while developing a love of the outdoors.
Each week, pupils might:
Build dens and shelters using sticks, leaves and natural materials
Learn to use tools safely under close supervision
Explore wildlife, plants, trees and changing seasons
Create art and crafts using natural resources
Take part in team games and problem-solving activities
Develop confidence, cooperation and creativity through hands-on challenges
Use nature to inspire writing, maths, and science learning
Forest School helps children develop the whole child - building physical skills, emotional wellbeing and social confidence.
By spending regular time outdoors, children learn to take care of themselves, each other and the natural world around them.
It’s a wonderful way to nurture curiosity, creativity and a lifelong connection with nature.
