Welcome to Year 6

We are a very happy , busy and hardworking class who love a challenge!  Our class teacher is Miss Gillies and we are supported by Mr Arnold . 

Our school day starts at 8:45 and we love to see everyone arrive on time! We have breaktime at 10.45am-11am and lunch between 12.15pm and 1.15pm. We also have a short break in the afternoon if we need it. Our school day finishes at 3.20pm.

Our PE days are Monday and Wednesday and children come into school dressed in their PE kit. PE uniform must be trainers, plain navy bottoms or shorts, blue PE T-shirt and navy PE sweatshirt (plain or with Redgate emblem) -  other sportswear cannot be worn. 

Our spellings and homework are given out on a Friday and due in as follows -

• Maths and/or English study books/topic research -  due in on the following Wednesday.   

• Sentences which are linked to the weekly spellings, are due in on the Thursday and the spelling test is on a Friday.

It is important that homework is completed weekly as they support the children's learning within school. Children are also expected to read and practice their spellings at home at least 3 times a week.

Children can bring a healthy snack for break times (we encourage a healthy option rather than crisps or chocolate!)  and should bring fresh water every day. (no juice!)

Mobile phones are only allowed for special circumstances and parents should contact the office to let us know if and when their child needs to bring their phone in so it can be safely stored during the school day.
