Design and Technology

HOW WE TEACH DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY AT REDGATE

At Redgate we are all designers! We want our children to develop a love for design and technology. Our curriculum is carefully designed to embrace and develop cultural capital.  We want our design and technology lessons to be memorable and to cherish these moments. We help children develop skills in knowledge, design, structures, mechanisms, electrical control and a range of materials, including food. Design and Technology encourages children's creativity and is an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject. Using creativity and imagination, our pupils design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values.
