HOW WE TEACH MUSIC AT REDGATE
At Redgate Community Primary we are musicians! We want our children to see themselves as global citizens, without limits to what their ambitions are. We want them to grow up wanting to be music producers, songwriters, composers or rock stars! We want them to embody our core values of ‘We Learn, We Collaborate, We Nurture, We Grow, We Stay Safe’ through music. The music curriculum has been carefully crafted, bespoke to our learners, so that our children develop their musical and cultural capital. We want our children to remember their music lessons in our school, to cherish these memories and embrace the musical opportunities they are presented with.
Our curriculum has been carefully designed using the Statutory National Curriculum Programmes of Study and The non-statutory Music Model Curriculum.
