Ancient Foreign Language

At Redgate, we believe that learning Latin provides a valuable educational, social and cultural experience for our pupils. We have chosen Latin as our preferred language as it supports the children’s learning in English grammar and vocabulary development and provides an excellent linguistic foundation for future languages study. The children will be able to use their knowledge to support their learning of other subjects including- Mathematics, English, Science, History, Computing and Music. They will use and develop verbal, analytical, logical and problem solving skills whilst they gain confidence in understanding and using more complex and enriched language and vocabulary in their everyday lives.
