Learning outcome assessment is core to the continuous improvement of curriculum at Purdue Global. For over a decade, the university has measured learning outcomes using rubrics to evaluate student progress on course outcomes, General Education Literacies, and Professional Competencies. PG has begun the process of transitioning its assessment methods to focus on leveraging grading rubric criteria and gradebook data to evaluate learning outcomes. This removal process began with May 2026 courses and will conclude with the July 2026 B track. Further, the existing General Education Literacies and Professional Competencies are being consolidated into a single set of Professional Skills that will be assessed using this new approach.
