About NFO
New Faculty Orientation (NFO) introduces Purdue University Global to new faculty including information about its background, students, best practices, and learning management system (LMS), Brightspace. NFO encourages examination and practice of the core aspects of teaching. These include navigation tools in the classroom, creating course materials and effective discussion boards, and gradebook management. The orientation provides an overview of university resources, policies, and tools that support the learning environment, as well as some professional development opportunities that fuel continuous improvement of the classroom experience.
NFO is a self-paced course. Faculty candidates have 2 weeks to complete all required components of the orientation course. Successful completion of orientation counts for 10 hours of professional development.
