Professional Development Reporting
Professional Development Requirements
Faculty are required to complete and report professional development hours annually as outlined in the Faculty Handbook. The Activity Reporting Guide provides definitions for professional development activities to help determine what can be reported for this requirement.
Faculty development is essential to the mission of the University and to the faculty for maintaining current knowledge in their field. Professional development is defined as tools, resources, and training that help faculty further their knowledge in their subject area, develop and expand teaching techniques, and enhance skills to better meet the needs of students. Faculty responsibilities include completing and reporting no fewer than 8 hours of formal/active professional development each academic year.
The CTL will report professional development on your behalf for the activities outlined below. For activities not included in the list below, the CTL recommends reporting professional development at least quarterly to ensure the timely completion of required hours. Use the streamlined activity entry form, and the CTL will take care of reporting activities in APL based on the information provided in the form.

Professional Development Reporting Service
The CTL will save you time and help you report professional development for the activities listed below. The hours will be reported for you as soon as possible and at a minimum monthly. Please be sure not to record your own attendance to live CTL events to avoid duplication.
Events that will be uploaded include the following:
CTL Live Events with the completion of the event reflection form
CTL Live Event recordings with the completion of the event reflection form
CTL Workshops
Purdue Global Village sessions
Purdue Global Village session recordings with the completion of the reflection form
General Education Conference sessions
General Education Conference session recordings with the completion of the activity reporting form
Please keep in mind that attendance must be for the majority of the scheduled session and the event reflection form must be completed to count toward your professional development annual requirement, and learning outcomes must be stated for the presentation. You can find a current listing of recordings and reflection forms in the recording catalog.
The CTL conducts uploads on a monthly basis. Learn more about the faculty information management system.
Activity Reporting Form
The Activity Reporting form is for Purdue Global faculty and staff to report professional development*, scholarship, and service activities.
One form should be completed for each activity being reported.
The CTL will take care of reporting activities in APL based on the information provided in this form.
A member of the CTL team may reach out to you regarding your entry if there are questions.
NOTE: This form is to be used in place of reporting activity directly in APL. DO NOT enter activities reported on this form in APL as this will result in duplication.
If you have questions, please email askctl@purdueglobal.edu for assistance.
*Professional development activities that are part of the CTL reporting service outlined above should not be reported on this form.
