Do you pay to take Septa? I did not for a long time– just walked right on. I was told that students were allowed on for free during school hours, which lasted from five a.m. to eight p.m. That only applies to students given a free fare pass for living one point five miles from school or farther. Little children and elderly citizens are primarily allowed to ride for free. How is it though that children are allowed on for free but not those same children that now have to attend school?
Currently, Septa fare is two dollars for buses and the Broad Street line. that said there’s been talk of it going up by fifty cents. The wonder is if this inflation is due to passengers climbing on board for free or because of the twenty-four thousand passes they gave out in August 2023 to those who needed them. Whatever the case may be, the price is soon to come up with Septa worker's stress for better pay, and other topics leading to the upcoming strike. The tensions building within septa stations due to their lack of protection against passengers is also one of the many starters for conversation amongst Septa workers. The question is, how will it end.
