CAPA's very own Halal Cart
On the corner of Broad and Christian sits a small green and silver food cart, the smell of fresh Halal food seeping from the interior and out onto the street. This spot is the most popular with CAPA students, given that the food is fresh and nearby. Between convenience and the warm, comforting taste of the meals, it’s an obvious stop for many hungry high school students. The menu items fluctuate between seasoned chicken over rice, lamb over rice, fish salad, vegetarian dishes, and much more. The man inside is kind—I learned this after I purchased chicken over rice on a chilly January day last year when he offered me a free soda—usually offering discounts for tired kids after a long day of school. The halal cart is a staple of the community around Broad Street, its importance apparent to many CAPA students.
