The polls told us. Philly was all for big sister general– besides South Philly. CAPA was all for Kamala. All the young adults followed her, but our support reached locked doors.
“Well– I voted for Kamala,” My mom shrugged, “I didn’t want to but I didn't want Trump to win. I would’ve voted for Jill Stein but I don't know anything about her and I knew she was most likely going to lose.” More than most people asked have a similar response– they don’t want to see Trump in office. The other half have concluded that Harris is useless and won't do anything good in office.
Harris lost at two hundred twenty-six while Trump won at three hundred twelve as of currently. Ninety-eight point four percent is the percentage of votes added up with both Harris and Trump, the remaining are nonvoters and/or uncounted votes. Were all runner-ups so bad a percentage of one point six percent of Americans decided not to vote at all?
“I wasn’t going to vote but like I said– I didn’t want Trump to win.” Again my mother adds.
“I think the whole thing is stupid, I don’t want to vote for either, I just want this whole thing to be over.” Claimed more than a few.
“The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.”-- Percy Bysshe Shelly, a quote that can be attributed to our elected president Donald Trump who seeks to uphold his wealth along with his peers. It’s been said across social media that people have decided to trade in women's rights to their bodies for lower gas prices. Meanwhile, Trump supporters have been parading around how the idea of abortion is “sin” and “murder”. Whatever the right may be it was long before abortion had become legal– it wasn’t long ago at all, nineteen-seventy-three. Of course, in states around America, it had already been known it was illegal however not completely across the entirety of the United States, Harris was seeking to abolish that ban and now Trump will put it into full effect. Many women pleaded for that right whilst the other half agreed just as much women should be labeled for their “crime”, not the man who suggested it.
Why are we letting a man decide what we get to do with our bodies– the ones we hold and mold our babies with?
