Each student is allocated and answers one of the following questions, by creating a slide for that question.
What is a risk?
Why do people take risks?
What risks are males more likely to take?
What risks are females more likely to take?
What influences our decisions to take risks?
What are the possible outcomes of risk taking behaviour?

Working in pairs, you are going to investigate the short and long term effects of drug use.
With your partner, choose two different drugs each from the list below:
Vaping
Cocaine
Alcohol
Cannabis
Analgesics
MDMA (Ecstasy)
Amphetamines
Caffeine
LSD
Ice
Inhalants
Each student should:
Download a copy the Quick Fact Trading Card worksheet to their managing_risk Google folder and Google share it with their partner
Each partner is allocated a drug to research.
Complete the questions for your allocated drug using the Australian Drug Foundation facts
Once each pair has completed their two drugs on their Quick Fact Trading Card, they join up with another pair and present their findings to each other.
As a class, discuss the impact of different drugs on individuals and on the community.
For children and young people under 18 years of age, not drinking alcohol is the safest option.

Learning Intention: We will be able to examine the factors related to teenage drug and alcohol use.
Success Criteria:
Investigate the statistics and trends related to drug alcohol use in teenagers
Identify attitudes towards teen alcohol use
Report on health promotion strategies to discourage alcohol use in teenagers
As a class, discuss some of the reasons for preventing underage drinking outlined in the video.
