Dear JH & HS Tiger Families: 

As we welcome the month of December, our school is buzzing with activity and holiday spirit! I’m excited to share updates, upcoming events, and highlights that showcase the amazing talent and dedication of our students and staff.  

Our annual Spelling Bee is just around the corner! On December 12th, our Junior High students put their vocabulary skills to the test in this friendly competition. We look forward to cheering on all participants as they aim for the championship.  

Basketball season is in full swing, and the Tigers are giving it their all on the court! We’re especially excited about the unique opportunity our team has this weekend—they’ll be playing at the historic Hoosiers gymnasium in Indiana! This promises to be a memorable experience for our athletes. Thank you to everyone who supports our teams, whether by attending games or cheering from afar.  

A heartfelt shout-out to Mrs. Jody Kays and the dedicated CBI and NHS students for their hard work in delivering food to families in our community for Thanksgiving and ahead of our Winter break. Your compassion and effort truly reflect the spirit of Newton Falls, and we are so proud of you for making a difference! 

Don’t miss out on the festive performances by our talented musicians on December 13th and 19th (more information below). These events are always a highlight of the season and a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays.  

Our new High School Drama Class is hard at work preparing for their upcoming production of The Glass Menagerie. This classic play promises to be an impressive showcase of our students’ acting talents. Public shows are planned for the end of January, and more details will be shared soon. We can’t wait to see them shine on stagea as we celebrate the resurrection of our Drama program, led by Mr. Scott Szeljack. 

As we reflect on the accomplishments of our students and look ahead to these exciting events, I want to thank you for your continued support. Together, we are building a strong and vibrant school community that fosters growth, creativity, and connection.

There's zero judgment--it takes a village to raise a child and we at Newton Falls Junior High and High School are part of your village.
