Dear JH & HS Tiger Families: 

As we transition into November, we reflect on the exciting events and achievements that filled our fall season. Fall sports have officially concluded, and we couldn't be prouder of each team’s dedication, resilience, and growth. Every athlete, regardless of the scoreboard, contributed positively to our school's legacy. We are grateful for their hard work, sportsmanship, and the way they represented Newton Falls in each competition! 

Our Marching Band recently showcased their talent at the city’s annual Cake Walk, adding an extra spark to the festivities. All of our students enjoyed a variety of Halloween activities, including our costume contest, which brought out some incredible creativity and fun!  Our Chess Team has been actively competing, most recently representing Newton Falls in a nationally ranked competition in Cleveland. These students have shown impressive strategic thinking and dedication.

We are especially thrilled to share that two of our students, Junior Ellie Falb and Senior Kennedy Howard, have been recognized as finalists for the Tribune Chronicle's prestigious Twenty Under 20 Award. These young women join NF graduate Danielle Drake from the Class of 2024 as Tigers who have achieved this recognition—a proud tradition that highlights the exceptional talent in our school.

Last week marked the end of the first grading period, and report cards were distributed today. We celebrated students who achieved Honor Roll, Merit Roll, or who earned 8-10 character cards with a special PBIS breakfast this morning. It’s inspiring to see so many students excelling academically and contributing to a positive school culture! 

We are also continuing our high-dosage tutoring program for students in grades 6-8, focusing on ELA and Math for those who need extra support. Parents interested in tutoring can reach out to Mrs. Rankin at rankinr@nfschools.org.

Looking ahead, winter sports are just around the corner, and we’re excited for the season to begin. Sports sign-ups have been emailed to all students so please check with your child to ensure they received the proper form. November will bring more memorable moments, starting with our Veterans Day Assembly on November 8th. We invite families to join us in honoring our veterans and celebrating their service. Additionally, please mark your calendars for school picture make-up day on November 15th.

Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community. We look forward to a successful month ahead with many more opportunities to learn, grow, and celebrate together!
