January 2025
January 2025
Dear JH & HS Tiger Families:
Happy New Year, Tiger Families! We hope you had a restful and joyful holiday season. As we step into 2025, we are thrilled to share some important updates and highlights for Newton Falls Junior High and High School. Let’s make this semester a great one!
End of Grading Period and Report Cards
Last week marked the end of the second grading period, and our teachers have been hard at work finalizing grades. Report cards will be distributed at the end of this week, so please check in with your student to review their progress. As always, we encourage open communication with teachers if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s academic performance. We will be hosting an awards ceremony for Quarter 2 and a special breakfast as a PBIS incentive on January 24th to reward students for all their efforts during the 2nd grading period.
New Entrance & Office Changes for 2025
We have made changes to several offices as well as the main entrance for our building. Please click HERE to watch a video that explains these changes.
Safety Reminder
This is a reminder for any of our parents/guardians dropping off students in the morning--please keep your eye out for students who are on bicycles traveling to school in the dark, particularly when in our school zone. We encourage all of our students who bike or walk to school in the morning to wear bright/reflective colors for visibility. Any parents/guardians arriving to the school in the morning should NOT use the fire/bus lane to drop off their child while students are arriving and entering the building. Please continue to drop off in the parking lot and have students utilize the designated walkway to enter the building through our new main entrance.
Mark Your Calendars: Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher conferences will take place on February 13th, 2025. Stay tuned to our website and social media as this date approaches for details on how to schedule a conference with your child's teacher!
Looking Ahead: Preparing for Spring Testing
While spring may seem far away, we want to remind families that state testing will be here before we know it. We will provide detailed information about schedules and preparation resources in soon, but now is a great time to start reviewing key concepts at home. Please reach out to your child's teacher for more resources to support your child's achievement at home. You can also find out more information on state testing by clicking HERE.
Yours in Education,
Mrs. Rankin, Principal & Mr. Bauman, Assistant Principal
