September 2024
Dear JH & HS Tiger Families:
We hope you are all enjoying the last moments of summer! As we stand on the cusp of another exciting school year, we wanted to reach out and welcome you all to what promises to be a year full of growth, achievement, and wonderful memories.
Our Commitment to Excellence
At Newton Falls, we're committed to providing an environment where every student can thrive. Our dedicated staff has been working tirelessly to prepare engaging curricula, create inspiring learning spaces, and develop programs that will challenge and support your children in their academic journey. We have adopted a new ELA curriculum in grades 6-8, Wit & Wisdom, to help increase student standards mastery and achievement. This school year, our building will also be utilizing a new universal screener and remediation program called Edmentum Exact Path. Edmentum Exact Path uses diagnostic tests to evaluate every student's present levels of performance in ELA and Math to help develop customized learning paths and reduce learning gaps through targeted instruction. To learn more about Edmentum's Exact Path, please click HERE.
We will also be offering high-dosage tutoring again this year through Huntington Learning Center for students in grades 6-8. This tutoring program is offered during the school day and works with students in small groups during their study hall periods on needed ELA and Math skills. Letters will be mailed home shortly for students that have been identified for this high--quality tutoring program.
The Junior High (6-8) is thrilled to welcome a new STEM program this year where students will get hands-on experience working with drones! Mr. Connell has worked extremely hard to develop this program and bring it to life and we are very excited for this new experience for our JH Tigers.
The High School is excited to add additional College Credit Plus (CCP) courses this school year. We proudly offer dual credit courses from Kent State University, Stark State College, and Bethany College and look forward to expanding our course offerings every year. We have also incorporated an ACT Math Test Prep rotation for all 11th grade students to better prepare them for their state-mandated ACT test they take as Juniors.
Our Junior and Seniors in the Career-Based Intervention (CBI) program will be attending the Mahoning Valley Skilled Trades Expo on September 19th and are looking forward to this rewarding experience to network with various employers and trades.
The Power of Partnership
As we embark on this new year, we want to emphasize the crucial role you play in your child's education. The home-to-school partnership is the cornerstone of student success. When we work together, sharing insights, concerns, and celebrations, we create a robust support system that empowers our students to reach their full potential!
Ways to Get Involved
There are many ways to stay connected and involved:
- Join our Parent-Teacher Organization or get involved (email jhhspto@nfschools.org)

- Regularly check our school website, Facebook, and Instagram accounts
- Engage in conversations with your child about their school day
