April 2024
April 2024
Dear JH & HS Tiger Families:
It is hard to believe that we have finally entered the last grading period of the school year which means the countdown to Summer begins! Spring marks the busiest time of year for us as we prepare for state testing season, graduation, the 6th Grade Washington DC trip, Spring sporting events, and so much more. During the month of March, we concluded the 3rd grading period, welcomed Mrs. Donley back after an extended medical leave, hosted our 2024 National Honor Society induction ceremony, participated in Trumbull County ESC's annual Civics Day, and installed Vape Detectors in all of the restrooms throughout the building.
One of the most notable events that took place during the month of March was the donation of over $4000 toward student lunch debt! We want to send a HUGE THANK YOU to Amvets, VFW, Zip City Lazer, Chris Granchie, Laura Neiheisel, Josh Vignero, and Fieldview Acres Mercantile for their extreme generosity!
We are incredibly proud of the continued hard work, growth, and success of our Tiger students as we work towards the conclusion of the 2023-2024 school year. Please make sure to check out all of the Spring information we have below to stay up-to-date and informed!
We want to emphasize to all of our Tiger families that if you find yourself lacking resources and are in need of help, please do not hesitate to reach out. If your children need coats, clothes, better shoes, or you need help with groceries and food, we are here to help. There's zero judgment--it takes a village to raise a child and we at Newton Falls Junior High and High School are part of your village. Please email rankinr@nfschools.org if you ever need additional support and we will utilize all our resources available to take care of our Tiger families!
We are committed to creating a partnership between our school and our Tiger families so that every child can be successful and achieve their highest potential. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you need anything or have questions/concerns. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Rankin, Principal & Mr. Bauman, Assistant Principal
This is a reminder that we will have no school on April 8, 2024, due to the solar eclipse. We also want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Mrs. Shannan Jursa from State Farm Insurance who donated eclipse glasses for all of our students in the district!
We will make sure students receive their eclipse glasses over the next several days and we are extremely grateful to Mrs. Jursa for her generosity! Thank you again!
April is the Month of the Military Child! This month we celebrate our military students and families as we express our appreciation for their dedication not only to our school, but also our country!
We are pleased to announce our April Students of the Month, Natalee Henderson (HS) and Elizabeth Beckman (JH). Congratulations to these students and thank you again to these military families for their sacrifice and service!
