This feature has been around for a while, but is often times overlooked. Docs has a free, and built in, option to use your voice to type. It's a lot like using the voice to text option on your phone. This could be used to save you time, or it's a feature students could use (every now and again) to quickly complete an assignment.
*You will want to go through and edit the Doc though, since it isn't always perfect!*
Follow these steps to use Voice Typing on Google Docs:
Open the Doc you want to use, or create a new one.
Select "Tools" and then click on "Voice typing."
3. Now you will have a microphone pop up on the left side of the screen. When you're ready, click on that microphone and start talking!
You may have to "allow" your computer to use the microphone for this feature. You should only have to do that once though.
When the microphone is red, that means it is listening. When you're done, you just click the microphone and it will go from red to plain (like it is in the photo above).
It will add punctuation for you as well, so you can say, "period" and it will put a period at the end of the sentence.
