Forcing users to "Make a Copy" of Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Drawing

Google Classroom has a very helpful feature that makes a copy of a Google Doc, Slide, Sheet, or Drawing for each student, but there are times where forcing others to make a copy of a resource would be helpful, but they aren't in Classroom - like sharing resources with others!

This tip skips the step of sharing your resource with others, changing the setting so they're a viewer, and then causing them to have to go in and make their own copy.

This tip is not always applicable, but is something to use when you want to share a resource that others can use, but you don't want to worry about them making changes to the original.

The best part, it's quick and easy!!

In order to force somebody to make a copy of what you want to send them you would:

Open what you want to share.
Click on the URL of that resource so it is all highlighted (I'm using a Slide to demonstrate this).

After clicking on the URL you will want want to click at the end of the URL, that makes it so you can highlight what you want.
You will then highlight everything from the end of the URL to where the word "edit" is. You will leave the slash though!

From there, you will type the word "copy"
Next, you will highlight the entire URL and copy it.

Now you have a link that will force the user to make a copy and they can make any changes they want, without changing your original!
