Copying Google Classrooms From Previous Years

I'm not sure if this is a new option or just something I didn't know about before, but it is something that has to be shared!

If you will be teaching the same subject this year, there is a shortcut that is amazing! Instead of creating a new class and uploading most of the same documents and materials that you have in the past, now you can copy the entire previous class and have ALL of those materials saved as drafts. There will not be any students, so you don't have to worry about that, and if you choose to skip an assignment or post that you used before, that's no problem!

Follow the steps below to copy a class, and save yourself time.

Step 1: Go to your archived classes. (I'm hoping that you have archived your classes from the previous year, so that's where the steps start)

Step 2: Click on the three dots in the right top corner of the class you want to copy and select "Copy"

Step 3: Rename the class to fit this year, choose "Copy", and then be patient. This step takes a while since there is a lot to copy!

Step 4: Go back to your current classes by clicking on the three lines at the top left corner and selecting "Classes"

Once the class has finally loaded, it will show up in your Classes and be ready for you to use! All of the materials will be found under Classwork. In order to use those items, you just have to post or schedule them.
