Archiving Classes on Google Classroom

At the end of the year, it's always nice to clean up your online classrooms, just like you do your actual classroom. In order to do this, Google Classroom allows you to archive your classes. This does NOT delete the class, but it does make it inactive. Doing this takes access away from students, it clears up the space for new Classes, and it still allows you to use previous assignments in the following years.

Follow these steps to archive classes:

View all Classes
Click on the 3 dots by the class you want to archive
Select "Archive"
Read the pop-up window to ensure you want to archive the class - they can be restored!
Select "Archive" again

To view or restore archived classes:

Click on the 3 lines at the top left of the window

2. Select "Archived classes"

Now you can view all of the previously archived classes. If you choose to restore a class, you follow the same steps as above: click the 3 dots and select "Restore."
