Dear Laker Families,
Students in grades 9-12 at Southwest will be completing the Minnesota Student Survey on Tuesday, May 27. The Minnesota Student Survey is conducted across schools in Minnesota every three years. Federal law requires us to notify caregivers of this activity.
Questions on the survey are about many topics related to young people’s lives. The survey is anonymous and no personally identifiable information is collected as part of the survey.
Please see the attached Passive Consent Notice to Parents (English, Spanish, Somali, Hmong) for additional information about the survey. You may also visit our district REA website. If you do not wish to have your student complete the Minnesota Student Survey, please complete the form and return it to school.
If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Bennett.
Final shows are Friday, May 16 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 17 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Don't miss it!!

On Wednesday, May 14, ten Southwest graduating seniors signed letters of intent to play college athletics.
Southwest Ultraviolet Robotics Team 2129 had a very good experience at the MSHSL State Tournament. The robot performed beautifully, drive team did an amazing job, students all fulfilled their scouting and other roles as needed and everyone was a gracious professional both on the field and off. Minnesota has a lot of very good teams and they were nudged out of playoffs this year. They lost two qualifying matches with scores over 200 that would have definitely won in other regions! The final match played was particularly fantastic and a great wrap for this year's robot, Marina, and the team's graduating seniors!!!
