Starting Thursday, April 17 until the end of the school year, Southwest counselor, Ms. Molin, will be in the CCC after school every Thursday from 3:15-4:30pm. This will be a space where any and all Lakers can work on homework, do group projects, take care of credit recovery, or even possibly take a test, with teacher approval, of course. There will be support but not tutoring available. College and Career Coordinators will also be available until 4:00 pm to answer college and career related questions.
The ACT will be given to all juniors at Southwest on Wednesday, April 23. More specific details about the day will be sent to junior families directly next week, but here are some basics.
All students will attend school on April 23. Juniors will take the ACT. All other students will attend classes as per normal. All students should report to school at the regular time.
Juniors will take the ACT on their Chromebooks. The software for the ACT is automatically updated on their Chromebooks as long as students restart their Chromebooks here at school using school wifi. Juniors who are not in the habit of bringing their Chromebooks to school will need to bring their Chromebooks to school prior to April 23, connect to our wifi, and restart. Counselors will be helping students with this process next week.
Families of Laker juniors should be watching their emails next week for more details.
