On Thursday, November 6, Mayor Jacob Frey and City Council Member Linea Palmisano came to Southwest to congratulate our girls cross country team on their state title. Mayor Frey shared the official city proclamation, expressed his congratulations to the state title-winning girls team, and even took a run with members of both boys and girls teams. The title trophy and Proclamation are in the SW main office for all to enjoy. Congratulations again to our girls team, whose team members are fast and studious. The team's composite GPA is 3.97. Go Lakers!
Southwest has started a new student award called "Lakers of the Quarter." Students are nominated for this award by their teachers for exemplifying the very best of what it means to be a student at Southwest High School: exceptional commitment to their studies, positive leadership within our community, and an unwavering dedication to being anchored in excellence.
