Students should arrive at 7:20 AM to enjoy breakfast and social connection time with their peers. Our academic day begins promptly at 7:40 AM, and students should be ready to learn by that time. Dismissal begins at 2:15 PM for bus riders, and at 2:20 PM for students being picked up or attending Part 2.  If your student is going to be absent or there is a change to their after school schedule, please copy Sue (susan.brady@mmuusd.org) in addition to emailing their classroom teacher. 

The Kindergarteners LOVE to explore math materials!

Welcome BPMS families, new and not new, to the 2025-2026 school year! I am beyond excited to be your children's school librarian. Here are some things to know about the library. If you have more specific questions, never hesitate to reach out to me, mollie.sprague@mmuusd.org

1. Books can be returned any time to the book return bin, now located OUTSIDE the library (and labeled "RETURNS"). So convenient!

2. Birthday Books, year 2! I am extra happy to continue this now-beloved tradition at BPMS, with support from our P.I.E. group. Each student gets to choose a new book to keep on their birthday! Summer birthdays and weekend/holiday birthdays are all honored at a time that makes sense. Thanks to our amazing Sue Brady for making lovely bookplates to put in each child's book.

3. Your student can return books to their classroom bin on their library day, or put them in the book return any old time. Kids can keep books for 2 weeks, with the option to then renew them if no one is waiting to read those books. However, if you have the kind of child who loves new books every week, get into the rhythm of returning books each week. Practice, practice, practice.

4. Here is when your child has library each week:

Monday: Parker pre-k (4s), Bressor pre-K (3s), Motta kindergarten

Tuesday: Parker pre-K (3s), Bressor pre-K (4s), Godin 1/2

Wednesday: Parent K/1, Marchelewicz 3/4, McGrath 3/4

5. I am in another school (and district!) on Thursdays and Fridays, so please know I will answer your emails at my earliest opportunity, but quite likely not until I am back to BPMS. If there is some sort of book-related emergency (they do happen), please note this in the subject line of your email.

Four Winds Nature Program is coming to BPMS — and we need YOU in the PreK–4 classrooms!

This beloved program gets kids outside, exploring the natural world in their own back(school)yards, sparking curiosity, and having FUN! But it can only happen with the help of parent and community volunteers.

Here’s what volunteering looks like:
Attend the training with other classroom volunteers (see schedule below).
Coordinate a “Nature Program Workshop” with the classroom teacher (usually a 1–1.5 hour block).
Lead the activity with students — sharing materials, experiences, and plenty of joy!

All volunteer training sessions are listed below and run from 12:00–2:00 at BPMS in The Hive, our outdoor classroom. You could even grab lunch with your kiddo beforehand!

Title I Annual Informational Meeting 

As an identified Title I school, Brewster-Pierce Memorial School will host a family/parent informational session on September 30, 2025 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm located at the school library. Additionally, a virtual option using Google Meet will be available at this LINK.  This presentation is open to any parents/caregivers of children at Brewster-Pierce. Topics to be discussed include: the purpose of Title Ia funding , what it means for a school to be designated as a Title I school, and an overview of parents rights as it pertains to having a student attend a Title I school.
