Our academic day begins at 7:40am and doors are open at 7:20am for breakfast and time to get ready for the day. If your student is going to be absent or there is a change to their after school schedule, please copy Sue (susan.brady@mmuusd.org) in addition to emailing their classroom teacher.

TIME TO RETURN YOUR BPMS LIBRARY BOOKS!
All BPMS library books need to be returned by Wednesday, June 11, 2025. If you know a book is lost forever or damaged beyond repair, please reach out to Mollie at mollie.sprague@mmuusd.org so we can arrange a plan for replacement. FOUR WINDS NATURE PROGRAM IS COMING TO BPMS!
FOUR WINDS NATURE PROGRAM IS COMING TO BPMS!
The Four Winds Nature Program is coming to BPMS next school year and we need volunteers! Please consider joining our community of learners—adult volunteers and children—exploring the nearby natural world together. Nurturing a child’s sense of place, wonder, and scientific curiosity is important work, and it is the dedication of the school’s Nature Program volunteers that makes this happen.
As Nature Program volunteers, you and your teaching partner(s) will present monthly lessons to K-4 students. Kids love taking part in these science lessons, having you as a guest teacher, and exploring nature outside in the schoolyard. To prepare, you will attend a two-hour workshop led by a Four Winds naturalist-educator prior to every lesson. Training workshops will be held outdoors to the extent possible with hands-on activities to help you learn the subject matter. We’ll discuss ways to present the lesson to children outdoors and strategies to make each lesson engaging and effective for the age group with which you are working.

RICHMOND RESCUE BIKE HELMET GIVEAWAY!
HELMETS STILL AVAILABLE!
FROM Richmond Rescue: We're doing our bike helmet giveaway a little differently this year. Instead of one big event, we'll be giving out helmets Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 5:30. Stop by our station at 216 Railroad Street in Richmond with your child and we'll get a properly sized helmet adjusted to fit perfectly. Helmets are available for anyone who resides in our service area: Bolton, Hinesburg, Huntington, Jericho, Richmond, St George, and Starksboro.

DEVELOPING A GROWTH MINDSET
Our brains are always growing, stretching and getting stronger. Many learners are understanding how a Growth Mindset can help us learn through challenge, struggle and sometimes mistakes.
When we try or learn something new, our brain creates a pathway between neurons that is often rather weak. With practice and often time, these neuron pathways can become stronger.
We reinforce these concepts daily through think-alouds, peer coaching, encouragement and through robust texts. The Magical Yet By: Angela DiTerlizzi, reminds us about resiliency and how you might not be good at something .... yet.

Our last PIE meeting of the year will take place next Wednesday June 4 at 7pm at the Huntington Public Library! Join us in-person or virtually - link to join is on our website www.bpmspie.org! We will be planning the final details for Wicked Fun Day and looking ahead to summer events out in the community! Come a little early or stay a little late for snacks and chats!
Come find our table next Friday at Huntington Valley Arts’ First Friday event in the lower village at 5pm! Because our recent fundraisers were so successful (*thank you* all for your participation!) we are able to forgo holding our last bake sale! Instead, we will be giving out light refreshments and seed bracelets, and of course we’ll have BPMS apparel for sale too! Come connect with us and visit the amazing local artists who will be there! The Chittenden East Youth Football Wolverines have opened up registration for the 2025 fall season. Hop online at ceyfa.org to register your kiddos to join their friends on the big field! The Wolverine program runs in the fall, mid-August through October, with a long history of Championship football. Come be a part of a team, build strong relationships, learn life lessons and build memories that will last a lifetime while learning the game of football. Registration is open for all players in grades 1 through 8. 1st through 4th graders play 7v7 flag football and 5th through 8th graders play tackle.
