Students should arrive at 7:20 AM to enjoy breakfast and social connection time with their peers. Our academic day begins promptly at 7:40 AM, and students should be ready to learn by that time. Dismissal begins at 2:15 PM for bus riders, and at 2:20 PM for students being picked up or attending Part 2.  If your student is going to be absent or there is a change to their after school schedule, please copy Sue (susan.brady@mmuusd.org) in addition to emailing their classroom teacher.

There's no school like the old school! Or...why I am bringing back my beloved date stamp.

Hi everyone. Sometimes old ideas are so good. When I first became a school librarian, I was told by some that the date stamp and stamping due dates into books was a thing of the past. I was devastated, as I have always loved a good stamp (and even had a date stamp as a kid when I would pretend to be a librarian), but I didn't want to seem hopelessly behind the times. Well, after many years without, I am bringing back the date stamp. Why? Can't we just find all the information about when our books are due on the computer? Well, in theory, yes. How many times has your grade schooler checked into their online school library account to see when a book was due? Have you ever done this for your student? As the parent of a 9 and a 7 year old who both take out books from a zillion libraries, I am going to venture that for most of us the answer is actually NEVER. As you can see in the photos above, the easiest, fastest, and truly most pleasant way to see when books are due back is to look in the back of the book at the date due sticker. The simplicity is completely lovely. I have purchased a new stamp (none of my old ones went up to 2025 or beyond), I've re-inked my kind of ancient stamp pad with an equally old, but still very viable bottle of Sanford Roll-On Stamp Pad Ink, and I am ready to rock. This also gives me accurate, at-a-glance data about how often books are circulating. You can't beat it, folks. Please enjoy this blast from the past, as it empowers everyone to know when books are due. I will still be sending overdue notices via the computer, as all the passenger pigeons were nowhere to be found as of this writing. Happy reading! Reach out with any questions or concerns, always. This slide deck contains a variety of songs we use in Spanish class. Some of the songs we have already listened to this year, and others are in here from last year. I will continue adding more songs as we learn new ones. They're all great Spanish practice for students.

You will notice that some of the songs are preceded by slides with pictures of gestures that for some of the words in the lyrics that your students can do as they hear those words in the song.

Title I Annual Informational Meeting 

As an identified Title I school, Brewster-Pierce Memorial School will host a family/parent informational session on September 30, 2025 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm located at the school library. Additionally, a virtual option using Google Meet will be available at this LINK.  This presentation is open to any parents/caregivers of children at Brewster-Pierce. Topics to be discussed include: the purpose of Title Ia funding , what it means for a school to be designated as a Title I school, and an overview of parents rights as it pertains to having a student attend a Title I school.
