Students should arrive at 7:20 AM to enjoy breakfast and social connection time with their peers. Our academic day begins promptly at 7:40 AM, and students should be ready to learn by that time. Dismissal begins at 2:15 PM for bus riders, and at 2:20 PM for students being picked up or attending Part 2. If your student is going to be absent or there is a change to their after school schedule, please copy Sue (susan.brady@mmuusd.org) in addition to emailing their classroom teacher.
While everyone is still making all their new year's resolutions, don't forget the resolution that you made to spend more time volunteering at your child's school! The kitchen is one of the best places to have fun at BPMS, if you haven't tried it, now is the time. We would love help to serve snack/breakfast from 8:15-9:30 and lunch from 10:45-12:30 (although SNOWMOTION Fridays will be slightly later than 12:30). Come see how much fun your kiddos have at lunch!

NEWS FROM THE BPMS HEALTH OFFICE
Hello BPMS Families —
Happy Friday before vacation! As we head off towards February break, there are a few things we would love to share that will support both PIE and the broader school community.
First - The Cookie Love fundraiser is currently open!
Please help support PIE by purchasing and/or selling Cookie Love Cookie Dough! This fundraiser was a big success last year, and we’re excited to support this local business again while raising funds for PIE’s mission.
To order cookies and view payment instructions, please use this simple order form.
Payment is due at the time of ordering.
If you’d like to sell to friends and family, you can either share the order form directly or collect their orders and payments and submit them together through your own order form.
Order deadline: March 20
If you have any questions, please email chair@bpmspie.org.
We would also love your help supporting our BPMS Teachers and Staff through Helping Hands
Formerly known as the giving tree, this year we have "Helping Hands". With the spending freeze initiated earlier this year, this is a great opportunity for our community to donate some of the supplies that our teachers have not been able to purchase through school. You'll find a display when you walk into the school building with individual requests. New items will be added as they come in from our teachers.
How can you help? Simply take a tag, purchase your item and return it to Sue.
Rarely in the building? Prefer to let someone else do the shopping? You can email Helen Stoddard at helenmstoddard@gmail.com, or Venmo any amount to our treasurer, Dee, @Dolores-Quesnel and note "helping hands".
Finally - Next PIE Meeting
March 11 | 7:00 PM at Huntington Public Library
Thank you for all of your support. See you after the break!
Please help us spread the word to make sure 3,000 of our friends and neighbors keep 3SquaresVT by reporting information that meets the work reporting rules. 3,000 people could lose benefits on March 1st if they do not report information in time.
We have developed a number of resources to support information-sharing and hope you will share these resources broadly, all housed in this link.
We have information for community partners to understand how to support people with reporting information, including completing the "Personal Obstacle or Barrier to Work" exemption. DCF has produced a community partner guide that explicitly talks about this exemption.
We have information to share generally with people (on social media, Front Porch Forum sample posts, newsletters, county-specific paper flyers)
We will be uploading the recordings of our 3SquaresVT Work Reporting Rules Training series on Tuesday to that link above.
The more we can share information about this BEFORE March 1st, the better chance that people who are otherwise eligible for 3SquaresVT will be able to keep their benefits. 3SquaresVT helps workers–both to supplement wages and provide support between jobs. Most people who can work, do work. For the small share of folks who can’t work or face barriers to work, 3SquaresVT is a crucial support.
In community,
Ivy, Sophie & the HFVT team
Our office has compiled a list of free food resources in Chittenden County with information about hours, location, accessibility and eligibility requirements that can be shared with families who need assistance.
You can find it on our Burlington | Vermont Department of Health website, or linked here: https://www.healthvermont.gov/sites/default/files/document/lh-burlington-Chittenden-County-Food-Resources.pdf
Mount Mansfield Girls Youth Lacrosse (3-8th grade) 2026 Spring Season registration is open. Guaranteed registration closes Sunday, February 22nd
Our Tiny Sticks program for K-2 Boys and Girls will remain open indefinitely.
After February 22nd, potential players can still register but will be waitlisted dependent on specific age group/team numbers. We can only have a certain number of players per team to ensure all athletes get an enjoyable amount of playing time.
Mount Mansfield Girls Youth Lacrosse (MMGYL) offers lacrosse programs for youth residing in the Mount Mansfield Unified Union School District (Underhill, Jericho, Richmond, Bolton & Huntington) as well as neighboring communities without programs (i.e. Cambridge) aged Kindergarten through 8th Grade. No experience necessary at any level. All are welcome.
