Our academic day begins at 7:40am and doors are open at 7:20am for breakfast and time to get ready for the day. If your student is going to be absent or there is a change to their after school schedule, please copy Sue (susan.vandervliet@mmuusd.org) in addition to emailing the classroom teacher.

Thursday, October 24th will be Hike Day this year!
Hike Day is an annual tradition at BPMS. Students, staff and family members head out for a beautiful fall hike on the trails at Sleepy Hollow. This is an opportunity for students, staff and families to enjoy being outdoors together while also getting some amazing views of Camels Hump. Stay tuned for more details to follow.

Kitchen Volunteers Needed
Kitchen Volunteers Needed
Are you interested in an opportunity to be involved in your child(ren)’s life during the school day? Would you like to get to know every child at BPMS by name? Curious to know if your kids are actually eating their vegetables at school? If so, volunteering in the kitchen as a lunch server might be a great place to start! The BPMS kitchen team is proud to make fresh, wholesome, and delicious food, however, we are dependent on volunteers to help serve lunch. Please consider signing up for a day or two to join the kitchen team and be a part of the school lunch hustle. The time commitment is from 10:50-12:30 and no experience is required! Flexible seating comes to the library! Students are really enjoying having comfy seating options. 3/4 book checkout has been transformed thanks to smaller groupings, more audiobook options, and a variety of ways to get cozy and sink into a great book. Is your student enjoying audiobooks? I am always impressed by how these recorded stories increase access and engagement.

First Friday Bake Sale October 4 at 5:30pm! Sign up here to contribute treats to our First Friday bake sale! Huntington Valley Arts' First Friday begins is sure to be a really fun family-friendly event and will be held at the Huntington Public Library! It will feature artists, music, and the opening of the new exhibit Passage to Wonderland! Read more about First Friday here, and don't forget to stop by our table next to the Good Times food truck in the library parking lot!
Fall Clean Up Day: Saturday October 5th from 9am-12pm (rain date on the 6th). Families (kids too!) are invited to come help get the school grounds cleaned up and tucked in for winter! Bring your gloves and garden tools! We’ll provide the cider and donuts! Email Lindsay Lyman-Clarke at

The annual BPMS Student and Staff Directory sign up sheets are coming home in student backpacks this week. Please make sure to return those forms by the end of next week if you'd like to change or update your student's listing!
