We hope you can join us at one of our all school morning meetings that we will host throughout the school year.
Students should arrive at 7:20 AM to enjoy breakfast and social connection time with their peers. Our academic day begins promptly at 7:40 AM, and students should be ready to learn by that time. Dismissal begins at 2:15 PM for bus riders, and at 2:20 PM for students being picked up or attending Innovation Learning. If your student is going to be absent or there is a change to their after school schedule, please copy Sue (susan.brady@mmuusd.org) in addition to emailing their classroom teacher by 12pm whenever possible.
Dear BPMS Families,
This month, one of our school wide focus is belonging—making sure every child feels known, included, and like an important part of our BPMS community.
We’ve been creating lots of opportunities for students to build connections across the school. At our launch assembly, students mixed with kids from different classrooms and grade levels and had fun finding ways they were alike and different. We’re also continuing that work through buddy classrooms, morning meetings, classroom routines, and the everyday moments where students are encouraged to include others, notice strengths, and make sure everyone has a place.
Our students have already earned their first whole-school celebration, and it was such a fun example of belonging in action. The entire school came together for a giant Rock, Paper, Scissors competition, and the cheering, laughing, and excitement throughout the building were pretty great to see. Those shared experiences help students feel connected not just to their own class, but to BPMS as a whole.
We’ll keep looking for ways to help every child build relationships, feel successful, and know that they matter here. Thank you for helping us create a school community where kids can truly feel, “I belong here.”
Warmly,
Michelle
3rd Grade Teacher Update!
Help us to welcome Jared Liga to BPMS! Jared comes to us with experience teaching third grade and brings a strong commitment to creating a classroom where students feel known, supported, and successful. Jared has strong experience with social-emotional learning, proactive student support, and building positive classroom communities. If you see Jared around Brewster-Pierce please help us give him a warm BPMS welcome! We are excited to have Jared joining our team and know our students and families will benefit from the care, experience, and energy he brings to the classroom.
BPMS Parent Advisory Group – Invitation to Apply
We are looking to create a small BPMS Parent Advisory Group to help strengthen the partnership between families and our school.
This group will meet approximately every 6–8 weeks and will serve as a space for parents and caregivers to provide feedback, ask questions, and collaborate around important areas of our school community. Topics may include our Continuous Improvement Plan, school data and student outcomes, BPMS traditions and events, family engagement, school climate and belonging, communication with families, student support systems, and ideas for continuing to strengthen our school community.
I am hoping to bring together approximately 4–6 parents/caregivers who represent students across different grade levels and age ranges. Because we want the group to remain small enough for meaningful conversation, not everyone who expresses interest will necessarily be selected for the initial group.
Our goal is also to make sure this work remains transparent and accessible to all families. Following each meeting, key discussion points, ideas, and updates will be shared with the full BPMS community through a BPMS newsletter.
If you are interested in being considered for the Parent Advisory Group, please complete the form below:
Here is the form to show interest!
Thank you for considering being part of this work. I’m excited about creating another opportunity for families to have a voice in how we continue to grow and strengthen BPMS together.
About photo retouching: Diane does light retouching on all photos to clean up things like leftover snack on faces, flyaways, etc. No AI is used. If you prefer that your student’s photo not be retouched at all, simply write “NO FACIAL RETOUCHING” on your form and Diane will make note of it.
WHOLE SCHOOL CELEBRATION
Brianne and Heidi's class spent some time exploring the Huntington River with buckets and scoops!
Hi 4th Grade Families,
I can’t believe we are already a month into the school year! We have been settling into our routines, getting to know one another, and building a wonderful classroom community. I have been so impressed by each member of our class and have really enjoyed getting to know their personalities, interests, and strengths.
It has been such a pleasure watching the students grow more comfortable and confident each day, and I’m excited about all the learning, laughter, and memories we’ll share throughout the fall.
We are looking forward to all that the season has in store for us, and we’re especially excited for Picture Day next Tuesday, September 22nd!
Thank you for all of your support in helping us get the year off to such a great start. I’m looking forward to a wonderful year together!
Best,
Mr. Goodridge
One of our 3rd grade students successfully stuck a skewer through a balloon during a science experiment! Way to go!
