This week students will continue to compare how authors and illustrators make texts exciting, moving or absorbing. We will also work on reading fluency by focusing on our 4 key areas - expression and volume, phrasing, smoothness and pace.
This week students will spend a lot of time writing information about the author they chose last week, putting it into a template and then consider how they will publish it.
In word work, we will learn about antonyms, playing some memory card games and using a thesaurus if necessary.
In Spelling this week, students will look at the prefixes 'il', 'im' and 'in', possessive apostrophes and some tricky words lists.
This week in Maths we will finish off fractions by assessing what has been covered then begin exploring decimals. We will start to connect fractions, decimal and percentages through interactive games and activities such as decimal art and decimal snakes and ladders.
This week in Health, we will have a look at what is violence and how our emotions and choices play a part in these cycles.
This week, we will learn how about user interfaces. Students will design and evaluate user interfaces (UI) based on a user story.
