In Reader's workshop this week, the students will be reading for pleasure, making Reader's notebook entries and writing book review about their favourite book.
Our mentor text will be Stuck by Oliver Jeffers.
Grade 3s have NAPLAN reading this week. On NAPLAN day, Grade 4s will be using a reading activity grid to complete reading tasks.
This week we be finalising our published narratives. We will also have time for free writing, where we will use a writing checklist to ensure we have included all the required features of a narrative.
In Spelling this week, we will be reviewing some of our expert words such as vowel, consonant, digraph, phoneme and grapheme. We will also revisit long and short vowel sounds, as well as the doubling rule when adding a vowel-suffix.
This week we will be diving into shapes! We will look at the similarities and differences between 2D and 3D shapes and their features. We will also create composite shapes using 2D shapes.
Additionally we will continue to develop our fluency with our recall of addition facts.
This week in Health, we will be starting our CyberSafety lessons for this term. We will be learning about the importance of creating strong passwords.
