During reading in Week 5, we are focusing on Monitoring as we read. This helps us to consider what we are reading, and notice whether we are finding it tricky or we understand the content. To add to this strategy we can use our inference and prediction skills to gain a further understanding of the text.
This week we will draft and edit our information reports on an animal of our choice.
We will also practice sequencing and connecting ideas in word work.
In Spelling this week, we will learn about words ending in the /v/ sound and the suffix 'ive'. We will also learn to spell some new tricky words and use our Super Speller Checks to identify spelling errors.
This week we will focus on multiplicative thinking. The students will reflect on the strategies we have been working with our number facts and apply them all in a variety of ways.
This week in Health, we will continue working through our respectful relationships curriculum. Our focus will be making apologies.
