Our mentor text for the next few weeks will be 'Encyclopaedia of Dangerous Animals.' We will be practising summarising information and also considering audience and author purpose. We will also begin looking at features of information texts, such as contents pages.
This week we will have the opportunity to complete free choice writing. We will also start to explore topic specific vocabulary and using paragraphs.
We will also investigate regular and irregular plural nouns.
In Spelling this week, we will learn different ways to spell the long vowel sound /ō/. We will also revisit our tricky words, and some songs and chants that help us to remember them.

This week we will build fluency in 2, 4 and 8 times tables. We will be focus on using doubling as a strategy for multiplication.
We will also use scaled instruments to measure length in mm, cm and m. They will measure the length of everyday objects and larger areas in their environment.
This week in Health, we will be working through our respectful relationships curriculum. Our focus will be: Building team strengths through cooperative games.
This week, we will explore what the local government does within the community. We will also discuss specific services and events provided by the local government and how it impacts their life.
