Our mentor texts this week are The Arrival and Welcome to Country. We will examine how authors use illustrations to build and portray characters and setting. We will also continue to make inferences in different texts.
This week we will have the opportunity to complete free choice writing. Students will revise non-negotiables when writing - neat handwriting, capital letters to start, full stops/punctuation, underline spelling words,
We will remind students about the importance of challenging them selves with vocabulary choice and sentence structures
In word word, we will learn about punctuating indirect speech.
In Spelling this week, students will review spelling knowledge, patterns and rules covered so far this year.
This week we will continue to work on our addition strategies and applying them in different problems. The strategies include the Jump Strategy, Split Strategy, Switch Strategy and Estimating.
We will also learn to create and interpret a map and legend symbols, using map grid systems.
This week in Health, we will be looking at making thoughtful choices to help us when we have 'friendship fires'. We will practice using these strategies so that we can access them in our personal lives.
This week, we will investigate how data is collected and the different ways it can be represented on digital platform. They will describe how Google Earth and Google Maps collect and represent data.
