For Reading this week we will be looking at text to text connections. We will again practise using our mentor text 'Stuck' and then make text to text connections with our own books.
This week we be proofreading, editing and publishing our narrative based on the story 'Stuck' by Oliver Jeffers.
We will also be learning about verb tenses.
In Spelling this week, we will be learning about silent letters and learning new tricky words such as: please, really, people, believe.
We will also practise using our Super Speller Checks:
Are there any sounds missing?
Is it the right grapheme (letter choice) for the sound?
Is there a rule to help me?
This week we will be continuing to learn and practise addition strategies! We will be learning the strategies of making 100 and 1000 to help solve addition problems.
We will also dip our toes into learning about mass and how it can be measured.
This week in Health, we will be continuing our CyberSafety lessons for this term. We will be learning about how to recognise the warning signs of scams online.
This week we hope to finish our research about a local council service. Students will consider how their chosen local council service impacts on their local community and consider ways it impacts on their own life.
