This week in reading, we will begin our poetry unit. We will look at Haiku and Limerick poems, focusing on rhythm, rhyme and other structures. Additionally, we will analyse the effectiveness of imagery, word choice and mood within poems.
In writing this week, we will be writing poems in a range of styles such as 'Haiku' and 'Limericks'. We will use inspiration from texts used in reading to guide the poem writing process.
This week in Spelling we will be learning more about contractions as well as abbreviations and tricky/useful words.
This week we will be revisiting division and applying it to solve real life problems. Students will also learn to estimate and compare angles using tools. We will continue to revisit Acute, Obtuse and Right angles.
This week in Health, we will begin our Relationship and Sexual Education (RSE) lessons. We will learn about the different stages of the life span, discussing in general some of the changes that happen during the various life stages.Â
We will also start our next Cyber Safety unit, focusing on Strength. We will recognise different emotions we might feel in online and offline scenarios and how to respond appropriately and seek help if needed.
This week, we will describe what an algorithm is and identify different types of algorithms (flow charts, pseudocode and code). We will also follow pseudocode instructions, cceate a visual algorithm (flow chart) using shapes, symbols, arrows and words, and test and improve an algorithm.
