In Week 10 we will investigating persuasive devices such as the rule of three, expert opinion and statistics. We will also continue to practise forming and answering questions as we read to help deepen our understanding of the text.
In writing this week, we will begin writing a persuasive letter to Mrs Norman about an improvement we want to see within the school community. We will focus on implementing persuasive techniques to make our writing more convincing.
In word work, we will practice sequencing ideas and using connective words to make our writing more clear and convincing.
In Spelling this week, we will learn about spelling /ow/ (brown,cloud) and /oy/
(toy, boil). We will also explore some fun ways to spell new tricky words.
This week we will continue to have fun with division. We are going have some fun activities where we will look at some new strategies, using known facts.
This week in Health, we will continue our unit on Health Messages. We will examine health messages from different sources and identify the difference between trustworthy and untrustworthy information. We will further explore choices, behaviours and outcomes conveyed in these messages.
This week, students will plan a persuasive letter to write to Mrs. Norman about an issue around the school that they would like to be addressed.
