Term 2, Week 7

During reading in Week 7, we will continue to focus on Monitoring as we read. This helps us to consider what we are reading, and notice whether we are finding it tricky or we understand the content. To add to this strategy we are going to use visualising to recall the setting, identify how the character travels through the setting and the meaning of the scene. This week, we will also practise our reading fluency skills with our fluency partners.

This week we will explore the power of 10 and how it works within our base-10 number system. We will also look at the area model to calculate larger sums.

This week, students will  learn about the impact of laws. They will consider examples of laws and why they are important to students' lives. They will explain why these laws are important and how they contribute to safety, fairness and order in the community.
