During reading in Week 6, we will continue to focus on Monitoring as we read. This helps us to consider what we are reading, and notice whether we are finding it tricky or we understand the content. To add to this strategy we are going to learn how to use a dictionary, and use these skills to find the meaning of words we are unsure of in our reading.
This week we will publish our information reports on an animal of our choice.
We will also practice making topic word associations in word work.
In Spelling this week, we will learn about words ending the suffix 'e'. We will also learn to spell some new tricky words and use our Super Speller Checks to identify spelling errors.
This week we will continue to focus on multiplicative thinking. The students will reflect on the strategies we have been working with our number facts and apply them all in a variety of ways.
This week in Health, we will continue working through our respectful relationships curriculum. Our focus will be problem solving with our peers.
This week, students will be learning about the difference between rules and laws. They will give examples of rules that apply at home, in school or in games and explain why we have rules and laws and describe their importance in keeping order and safety. They will identify who makes and enforces rules (like teachers or parents) and who makes and enforces laws (like the government or police).
