This week we will be exploring the life of Beatrix Potter. We will look into her early life, what books she has written and also the style of her those books. This will then be followed up in our writing lessons.
This week we will have the opportunity to complete free choice writing. Students will revise non-negotiables when writing - neat handwriting, capital letters to start, full stops/punctuation, underline spelling words. As they will be focusing on Beatrix Potter this week, students will be encouraged to write in her writing style.
In word word, we will learn about Prepositional Phrases. Students will also extend their vocabulary by using word clines, arranging the words from weakest to strongest in context.
In Spelling this week, students will focus on using the suffix 'ion'. We will also have time to revise our tricky words, previous sounds and will test our current spelling knowledge and skills.
This week in Maths we will continue to investigate equivalent fractions in different contexts. We will also learn about indepedent and dependent probability events.
This week in Health, we will learn about Gender Stereotypes through fairy tales. Students will focus on gender differences in modern children's stories or films. We will also discuss that everyone is free to choose their own interests and roles.
This week, we will learn about branching algorithms and how to follow algorithms to complete tasks. They will use a program called Rapid Router to create and follow algorithms.
