This week students will compare how authors and illustrators make texts exciting, moving or absorbing. The will look at word choice, illustrations, description, surpises and humour in the writing of different authors.
This week students will choose an author and begin to research their chosen author. They will find out about their life, works and writing style.
In word work, we will learn about past, present and future tense. Students will also extend their vocabulary by using thesaurus to find synonmyns.
In Spelling this week, students will review concepts such as rabbit words, 'ion', soft 'c' and soft 'g' sounds, as well as tricky words, such as caught, celebrate and certainly.
This week in Maths we will represent fractions in different ways. We will represent fractions on a number line and begin to look at improper fractions and mixed numbers
This week in Health, we will identify ways that peers can put gender pressure on each other. We will identify ways to show respect for the ways people express themselves and practise ways to challenge peers when they seek to limit choices.
This week, we will learn how we can make coding more efficient by using repeat blocks. Students will use various coding programs to practise these skills.
