A trip around the world

Traveling is something that many kids, teens, and adults dream of doing one day. Whether they want to travel so they can study, visit monuments, or because they want to have the chance to say that they’ve been to such places. As our generous teacher Mrs.Kinnett wanted to grant this wish for some of the students at Galileo, she had decided to book a 10 day long “Study Abroad” trip from June 19th to June 28, 2023. In this trip, she and 5 other students will be traveling to London, Paris, and Italy to visit different landmarks and learn more about the regions and enjoy the customs and opportunities they have to offer.

There are some students that have been waiting for years to attend this trip. Elijah Brown, a Senior at Galileo, has been wanting to go on this trip since his freshman year when Kinnet had first talked about it. “As I’ve been waiting to go on this trip since my freshman year, I’m excited to see famous paintings, look at all of the art, and bask in all of the culture,” says Brown. While some have been waiting for long, others have been fortunate enough to become a falcon when the trip was ready to go. “Some things I’m excited for on this trip are going to Paris & Italy, seeing how the people from these regions live their everyday lives, and possibly being able to visit a designer store,” freshman Sasha Whittle States. No matter how long anyone has waited, all students are excited to take part in the trip this year and be able to talk about the sights that they’ve seen when the adventure comes to an end.

As they will be on their trip for 10 days, they will spend 8 of their days actually participating in different activities and going to different places, while two will be spent traveling. Day 1 & 10 will be dedicated to traveling and days 2 - 9 will be devoted to touring. Down below will be a guide for what they’ll be doing for their time there:

Day 4 ~ London → Paris

Eurostar Chunnel crossing

Paris city walk: Île de la Cité, Notre - Dame Cathedral, Île St. Louis, Latin Quarter

Day 5 ~ Paris landmarks
