The custodians of Galileo

Jacqueline Gunn is an amazing custodian of Galileo Magnet High School. She is a part of a team that works very hard at making sure everyone is healthy, and her smile is very contagious. Enjoy our conversation in a few questions about some insight into her day-to-day life.

First, I’d like to know how long have you been working at Galileo?

I started in 2019, and it will be three years in April.

What is a positive aspect of your job?

Interacting with the staff and students is my favorite part of the job. The atmosphere is great, the people are nice, and everyone treats you with the utmost respect.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

It is definitely spending time with the grandkids.

How old are your grandkids?

The youngest is 4 and the oldest is 5.

Wendy Fitzgerald is another amazing custodian of Galileo Magnet High School. She has such an outgoing personality and takes pride in everything she does. Enjoy our conversation about her eventful life.

It has been 2 years.

What is a positive aspect of your job?

Ensuring that everyone is healthy is my favorite aspect. Keeping the surfaces clean and tidy, making sure that germs are not being passed around.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

My favorite thing to do outside of work is definitely shopping, but I also have a second job as a CNA.

Vivian Singletary is the last one out of the bunch of our amazing custodians of Galileo Magnet High School. She is extremely ambitious and dedicated to the role she is a part of while being here. Enjoy our conversation about some insight into her life.

First, I’d like to know how long have you been working at Galileo?

I have been working at Galileo for 2 years.

What is a positive aspect of your job?

Being able to conversate with the students when seeing them around. As well as, interacting with the staff and ensuring that the environment is clean.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Spending time with my daughter. I love when we go to Walmart, and she spends all my money. However, I don’t mind because it’s quality time.

How old is your daughter?

10 years old.
