End of the Year Information

  • As a reminder, the last day of school for students is Friday, June 19th, which leaves us with only 2 weeks left of remote learning. It remains so important for all of our students to participate in their online lessons through Google Classroom so that they can be a part of closing out another successful year with all of their teachers and classmates.

  • We will be holding our annual Transition Ceremony celebrating our graduating Seniors via Zoom on Friday, June 12th at 2:30 PM.

  • Grades will be closing for Quarter 4 on June 19th. Report cards and progress reports will be mailed to all families during the last week of June.

  • We will be holding the Summer Challenge for students again this Summer and more information will be available soon regarding this and other additional summer resources. We hope to see all of our students participate in the fun activities included in this Challenge and participants will earn a reward upon our return to school!

  • All families should have received a Consent Form packet in the mail with the necessary forms to be completed for the upcoming school year. We are asking that families complete these forms and mail them back by July 1st using the self-addressed, stamped envelope provided. If you have not received this packet or if you need assistance in completing the forms, please contact your Family Therapist as soon as possible.

Dear Parents & Guardians,

We hope this Weekly Update finds you all well. We are hard at work preparing for the Celebration for our Graduating Class of 2020. The last day of school, June 19th, is approaching rather quickly so we only have a short time to be together in this school year so please engage and participate up to the final day of school.

This summer, as in years past, we will be offering the Summer Challenge which contains a grid of engaging enrichment activities to help your child maintain structure as well as continue to practice basic skills such as reading. It is meant to be fun and has activities and assignments for your child to continue to learn over the summer break. Students who complete the Summer Challenge will earn a reinforcement when we are back in session. Please contact your Family Therapist for more details.

Also, this is another reminder that the Consent Form Process has begun this month. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (D.E.S.E.) requires that these forms are updated every year. We appreciate your attention and assistance in completing, signing and returning the forms by July 1, 2020 using the postage-paid return envelope. Your Family Therapist will be available to assist you in this process.

Finally, we would like to extend congratulations to all transitioning students of the class of 2020! We are so very proud of what each of you have accomplished. You have shown that meaningful experiences and relationships developed over your time with us have been transformative.

Please carry with you all you have learned about self and other and know we have faith in your abilities to navigate your next journey.

Warm Regards,

Peter Lang, M.Ed., Principal

Tech Tips:

Zooming Into Graduation

Some quick tips to prep you for a large Zoom event.

Like many other schools, we will be honoring our graduating Seniors with a virtual Transition Ceremony. This year's ceremony will be held on June 12 at 2:30 PM.

Even if you are already familiar with Zoom "Meetings", there are a few differences when it comes to Zoom "Webinars", which is the platform we will be using for our virtual Transition Ceremony. Among other reasons, we have chosen this platform because it allows for a larger number of attendees than a regular Zoom meeting does.

So, what exactly can you expect from a Zoom Webinar? How can you prepare, and make sure you are ready to go and don't miss out on any of this momentous occasion?
