“Hard times don't create heroes. It is during the hard times when the 'hero' within us is revealed.”

– Bob Riley

"To be a part of something so extraordinary, especially in the midst of uncertainty, is what makes each of us no longer just an individual, but together a whole."

-Kristin Benoit

Dear Parents & Guardians,

As we prepare to say good-bye for the summer we hope this final Weekly Update of the 2019-20 school year finds you well. Today, we take a moment to reflect on the entire year and on the journey travelled these last three months. We also want to take this opportunity to say thank you for your patience, your understanding, and most of all your investment in working together to make the best of the unique challenges of this year.

Although it seems a lifetime ago that we were together at 25 Wellman Avenue, our collective success with remote learning was built on the foundation of cooperation and collaboration established earlier in the year. The remote experience, like life in general, was often challenging and overwhelming. Our efforts and indeed our successes offer a model for what can be achieved with a positive attitude, hope, and a willingness to work together with the people close to you. Going forward we hope that whatever next school year brings that we can continue to foster this partnership to advance our children’s well-being. And speaking of our children, I think that we can all agree that our students, our children, deserve a tremendous amount of appreciation and recognition for how they coped with all of the challenges this year presented. To say that we are proud of them is most certainly a great understatement.

In closing, thank you again for being a part of the Lighthouse School family. We hope that you all have a wonderful and safe summer and please don’t forget about the Summer Challenge!

Warm Regards,

Peter Lang, M.Ed., Principal

Transition Ceremony 2020

Although this year our traditional ceremony honoring our graduating students looked a little different, we were happy to be able to celebrate together in a virtual way. One upside to this platform was that we were able to bring the ceremony to viewers anywhere in the country, and even had some international viewers tune in! To paraphrase our Master of Ceremonies, Ms. Pepin, the fact that this year's celebration was presented differently did not detract from the hard work and accomplishments of our students.

Thanks to all of the viewers who joined us for our virtual Transition Ceremony on June 19, 2020. Below, please enjoy a tribute to our graduating Seniors, which was originally presented as part of the ceremony.
