WITH THE UNION, WE WILL BRING PEACE!

The European Union, currently made up of 27 European states, is a political and economic organisation, which has the purpose to unite countries by offering peace, freedom and security. All this was born after the Second World War, when some countries (including Italy), were in a delicate moment, and their goal was that what had happened before would not happen again.

Even today, their main purpose is to promote peace, and it is precisely on this point that I would like to focus.

One of the most positive aspects with the EU is certainly the peace and security we have had in recent years. Central Europe has never seen such a long period of peace, and for this reason the EU has also received a Nobel Peace Prize. European citizens coexist peacefully, despite different aspects of their culture and tradition, and they feel closer and more connected now than ever.

On the other hand, the EU has also negative aspect: in order to comply with the standards imposed by the EU, member states are asked to carry out inflexible economic policies, but sometimes this falls on the citizens, who pay high taxes. All this puts at risk the peace created over the years, and could give rise to instability, making the work done in recent years almost useless.

In my point of view, the EU is fundamental in moments of emergency , if we stay united and we help each other, we will be much stronger. From every point of view, not just the political one, the EU has shown that it has brought great benefits. Personally I think that this point is paramount, and that in an era where violence is often used, an organisation like ours, which fights for peace, is vital.

In conclusion, I believe that what the EU has given us, first of all in terms of peace, is extremely fundamental, because while in the rest of the world various economic and political conflicts break out, thanks to the organisation of the EU we are able to solve conflicts with words, avoiding unnecessary wars that would only bring disadvantages. United we are stronger, but above all united we are able to bring and keep peace.
