Human Rights are the basic and untouchable Rights we acquire by being alive: everyone is born equal to others , not only in freedom but also in dignity, justice and peace .
The EU promotes and protects these Rights to guarantee the European people a future of peace and stability, and to promote a widespread culture of tolerance and solidarity.
The EU is extremely active in many fields : there is a constant attention to the fight against racism, xenophobia and any kind of discrimination that could exclude an individual from its basic Rights. Moreover, it organises many campaigns and charities to get food and water to sustain people who can’t afford to buy themselves proper goods. It always grants freedom of speech to every single inhabitant of the EU, giving him/her the possibility to vote for their national leaders and to believe in whatever they want .
Unfortunately , there are still many people who are being abused. Discrimination often occurs on the basis of skin colour and sexual orientation. However, despite some problems from time to time, this organization always makes sure that problems are solved.
In my opinion, living in the European Union is important for its action to guarantee all people the Rights that everyone expects as the first basis of their life. I personally believe that it’s important to be aware of this and constant work in this field is what makes the EU unique all over the world .
In conclusion, I would say that without fundamental Human Rights it would be impossible for people to be truly free, and the EU guarantees and promotes respect and protection to everyone.
