The Leigh Sports Superstar - Kallie at The Trust swimming gala

I we

On the 29th November I was selected to represent The Leigh Academy at the Leigh Academies Trust annual swimming gala. It was such a great experience and I would definitely like to take part next year!

I competed in 3 events - 25 metre backstroke, 25 metre breaststroke and finally the 25 metre freestyle. After I had completed my 3 events, I also joined with another school for the relay races. I had to do a 50 metre freestyle for them but it was all worth it because I was able to take part in the swimming even more.

After swimming in my heats I managed to reach the final freestyle and breaststroke. In my freestyle I came 2nd out of 13 and received a shiny silver medal. For my breaststroke I finished in 5th place out of 13 helping us finish in 5th place overall out of 13 schools.

I am sure that next year we will go from strength to strength and acheive an even higher placing overall.

Kent Table Tennis Championships

On Wednesday 30th November the Year 10 and 11 boys travelled to The Howard school for the Kent table tennis team tournament. The day was very successful with the boys' teams progressing from the group stages against high level opposition and eventually being eliminated in the quarter finals. Highlights from the day were from Joshua (Year 11) who finished the day undefeated and also from Jayden (Year 10) who beat some of the best players in Kent and was captain of our ‘A’ team.
