Global Citizens - The Leigh Rugby in Zambia

Leigh PE have joined forces with the Tag Rugby Trust.

The Tag Rugby Trust is a rugby based charity, formed in 2002. The Tag Rugby Trust was established to help improve the lives of children in the United Kingdom, and also in some of the most underprivileged regions of the world. They currently work with government schools and orphanages in Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, India, Kenya, Mexico and Romania using the game of Tag Rugby as a vehicle. Volunteers from the U.K .and the underprivileged areas work closely with children in a coaching capacity, which makes a life changing difference to all parties involved. In conjunction with the tours the Tag Rugby Trust continually donates equipment to enhance the development of Tag Rugby and Rugby in the underprivileged regions. This year, our no longer needed and unused Leigh kit went to Zambia for both males and females players there.

The very grateful students are pictured below. We are so pleased to know that we are extending our community as service approach, beyond our local community and are proud that we can help others to enjoy and benefit from team sports.
